Ms. Marzejon has 28 years of performing experience, 12 years professionally worldwide, including Japan, Canada, and the U.S.A. Her training includes 16 years in ballet, 20 years in tap and jazz, 15 years in acrobatics, 10 years in hip hop, six years in drama, and an 18 month certification in Stotts Pilates. She continues her education with renowned choreographers and instructors yearly.
From 1999 to June 2004 Ms. Marzejon was the Artistic Director at an area studio, resigning there to open Michelle’s Academy of Dance and Performing Arts Center July 2004. She has instructed classes at several area studios, the Performance Company Director at two studios as well as instructor of Stott’s Pilates at area fitness centers. Her students in her Performance Companies under her direction have won numerous awards and scholarships both locally and in Chicago, Las Vegas and LosAngeles. Her students have graduated from her classes to continue their performing arts educations at area universities, BYU, New York and L.A. with career goals to be instructors, studio owners, and professional performers.
She has recently taught master classes at Wayne State University and Albion College and has been judging competitions in Florida and North Carolina. In her spare time she enjoys reading, fitness training, Pilates, traveling, and spending time with her family and Jazzy, her Jack Russell. Her students know her affectionately as Ms. Michelle.

Kathy King began dancing at the age of three and her studies have focused on a wide range of dance styles and techniques. She began her professional career in high school dancing for local Michigan touring act Dave King Live and Detroit rap artist T-Baby.
After high school, King spent time living in Los Angeles where she taught at several area studios, performed on stage and film, and studied intensively at EDGE Performing Arts Center. She has worked nationwide with Artists in Training Dance Convention and Urban Jamm Dance Convention, and is frequently called upon to teach at studios and high schools throughout the Southeast MI area. In 2006, King founded The Michigan Dance Project, a not-for-profit professional contemporary dance company. She is currently Artistic and Administrative Director, as well as choreographer for The Michigan Dance Project.
At MADPAC, she works closely with the MADPAC Performance Company, and is dedicated to giving all students the chance to grow as dancers. She recently completed her studies at Wayne State University where she majored in Public Relations with a minor in Dance. Her students know her affectionately as Miss Kathy.

Jane Sheets grew up in Ann Arbor and has been studying dance, mainly ballet, since she was six. She trained at a number of area studios: Dance Gallery, Randazzo and Dance Arts of Chelsea. At sixteen she moved to Virginia to attend the Virginia School of the Arts, a ballet academy founded by the former Royal Ballet member Petrus Bosman.
After graduating she went on to attend Butler University, performing corps and soloist roles with the Butler Ballet Company. She finished her Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance in 2004. That fall she began teaching at Dance Arts of Chelsea. She has been on staff at Michelle’s Academy of Dance and Performing Arts Center in Brighton since 2006 and at the former Dance Gallery in Ann Arbor. She enjoys performing when her schedule permits.

Lauren Maten recently graduated from Michigan State University where she studied Creative Advertising with a minor in Public Relations. Maten also spent time studying at Arizona State on an Academic Scholarship.
She has been dancing for 18 years, training in many different genres. She has spent time studying in NYC at Broadway Dance Center and in Los Angeles at EDGE Performing Arts Center. During her past training, Maten was a member of the Classy Dancer competitive group from Terri Newman’s Dance Shoppe where she received numerous competition awards. Lauren is a founding member of The Michigan Dance Project. She frequently teaches and choreographs for MDP.
Currently, she teaches at MADPAC, and aids with much of the coordination of MDP functions. Lauren is very excited to be teaching at MADPAC this year, and hopes to inspire all of her students.

Love Miller holds a BFA from Western Michigan University, where she was the recipient of many scholarships in dance. She has been a member of Toni’s Dance Company, Ebony Vision, and the Western Dance Project. She has also participated in the River North Chicago Dance Summer Workshop.
Love is a founding member of The Michigan Dance Project. She has contributed multiple performance pieces over the past year and taught for the MDP Summer Intensive. In May 2008, Love welcomed her first child, Trey, into the dance world! Her students know her affectionately as Miss Love.

Laura K. Wiacek attended Western Michigan University on scholarship where she received a Bachelors of Arts in Dance along with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering. While at WMU, Wiacek performed in various Great Works Projects such as George Balanchine’s Who Cares and Giselle as well as Gus Giordano’s Sing, Sing, Sing.
She then went on to dance for Holland America Cruise Lines followed by a move to Chicago where she continued to dance professionally, making an appearance in “The Break Up”, a movie featuring Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn. Wiacek has trained under Dance Masters of Michigan teachers along with professional instructors from Russia. She has studied at professional studios including The EDGE Performing Arts Center in California and Broadway Dance Center and STEPS on Broadway in New York City. She has won numerous awards and recognition for her dancing.
Wiacek is also a founding member of The Michigan Dance Project. Along with working as an engineer during the day, Wiacek teaches and continues to share her love of dance with her students.

Alicia Nelson comes to us with many years of experience teaching young children to develop a love for dance. Nelson began dancing at a very young age herself, learning tap, jazz, ballet, tumbling and lyrical.
Most recently she worked with youngsters in Toledo, Ohio age 2-10 years old, Mommy and Me classes, and studio reception. Alicia along with Miss Michelle and the MADPAC staff produce a holiday show in December with all the 3-5 year old students. We are happy she relocated with her family and joined our staff. The students know her affectionately as Miss Alicia.

In 2004, Scott Tolinski formed the Robotops Crew along with John Zhu and Joel Manago. Years later, Robotops became one of the most successful crews in the Midwest, battling and competing all over the United States. Tolinski's Robotops Crew has also performed for large audiences at Detroit Pistons' games and the nationally broadcast Detroit Lions' Thanksgiving Halftime show.
Scott has been teaching new bboys and bgirls how to break for over 5 years, sharing the knowledge he has traveled the globe to acquire.

Rebecca Aramino recently joined our staff. She comes with a varied background of study to include jazz, hip hop, ballet, lyrical and tap. Teaching dance since 2004 in Midland, Michigan, Rebecca has come to our area eager to teach her style of dance.
She completed her studies in business and interior design at Delta Community College in Saginaw, Michigan and currently you may see her using her degree at the newly opened Pi’s Asian Cuisine where she manages the restaurant and dining room. Her students will know her affectionately as Miss Rebecca.

Mrs. King has been involved in the dance industry for more than two decades, assisting studio owners with recitals, costumes, stage design, volunteers and reception. As the office and studio manager for MADPAC, assisting Miss Michelle for the past ten years, she provides professional assistance to the teaching staff in all levels of studio activities. When her children were young Mrs. King was active in elementary PTA as President, Vice-President, Volunteer Coordinator, clinic supervisor, PTA Board of Directors and Board of Directors of the Collierville Youth Athletic Association, and sports booster member spanning 30 years.
She was President of Board of Directors for the Drag Racing Association of Women, an international organization, from 1989 to 1991, raising much-needed funds for injured drivers and their families. Mrs. King has four grown children and four grandchildren.
In her spare time Mrs. King enjoys spending time with her black lab “Diesel” and husband “Papa Dance”, volunteering with The Michigan Dance Project and supporting the young dancers and their parents at the studio. Students know her affectionately as Mrs. King, while parents and staff call her Debbie.
